Killington’s Snowed Inn Offers an Alternative to the Wild’s of the Dew Tour, Jan. 19-22

Dec. 19, 2011

KILLINGTON, Vt., (Dec. 19, 2011)— For four days in January, top winter athletes from around the world will descend upon Killington Resort to compete in freeskiing and snowboarding in the Winter Dew Tour, which returns to Killington in the second of three stops this season Jan. 19-22. Complete with live concerts featuring top artists and a huge Festival Village with giveaways, products to try, athlete autograph signings and more, the weekend is jam-packed with adrenaline. To Dew or not to Dew. That is the question.

The innkeepers at the Snowed Inn know that a wild weekend isn’t for everyone. And while the perception is that Killington is too busy to enjoy skiing and riding during the Dew Tour, the reality is, the entire event is staged at Bear Mountain, and Killington’s other five mountains are wide open to enjoy. The Snowed Inn Dew Tour Alternative Package allows skiers and riders to reap the benefits of the Dew Tour activities or escape to a bit of serenity with skiing and riding, a massage and a special dinner.

For those looking to stay away from the crowds, the package, from $449/person, offers two quiet nights of lodging at the Snowed Inn, tucked away just off Killington Road, a two-day lift ticket, a massage at the nearby Spa at the Woods, and a gourmet dinner at Countryman’s Pleasure (choice of filet mignon, veal entinger, salmon and shrimp dinner, plus salad, vegetable and starch). Tax, tip and gratuities are not included and the package is valid for a minimum two-night stay beginning 1/19/12.

“I think some kids will be pretty ramped up to bring their families to see all the action in the massive halfpipe that the resort will build at Bear Mountain,” said Innkeeper Jeanne Karlhuber. “But the Inn’s location makes it easy for guests, especially families, to enjoy the event if they want or steer clear of it. Since we’re within walking distance of many of the restaurants and nightclubs, those who still wish to go out for festivities can do so, while others can simply relax in our outdoor hot tub, go get their massage and enjoy dinner.”

Athletes are competing for the highly coveted Dew Cup that will be awarded at the Toyota Championship at Snowbasin Resort in Ogden, Utah and for more than a million dollars in prize money.
